Podz offers blunt Warriors critique after crushing loss to Nuggets

The Warriors' spectacular collapse in Thursday night's 130-127 loss to the Denver Nuggets was the latest painful setback of the 2023-24 season.

Golden State rookie guard Brandin Podziemski said after the game that he's never experienced such a turbulent season.

As a rookie, I've probably never lost like this," Podziemski told reporters. Like I've never had such good victories and awful defeats

I rely on the vets, who tell me it's another game, just be consistent in your daily routines and routine, and we'll usually win. As mentioned, we're blowing leads and might have 20-25 victories.

In response to why the Warriors are playing so many close games this season, Podziemski highlighted why early-game blunders are hurting them.

I think many could have been averted. I just saw that we've lost four games we led 18 or more in. He makes plays down the stretch and in the early half that you don't see since the conclusion of the game decides the winner. Our record shows that many plays go wrong for us.

With 6:34 left in the fourth quarter, the Warriors led the Nuggets by 18 points before Denver's 25-4 rally ended the game. Golden State has equaled the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA record with four games dropped with a 17-point lead this season.

In the heartbreaking defeat, Podziemski scored 13 points on 3 for 4 shooting from the 3-point line off the bench. It was not enough, as the Warriors fell to 16-18, seeking for answers after another devastating loss.
